Neuro-linguistic Programming is a philosophy and psychology-based methodology for personal growth, emotional maturity & professional advancement. It's a set of proven tools and techniques to help you learn the language of your own mind and take the driver's seat of your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, behaviours, and therefore your results in life.
NLP is a type of therapy where we work with people to understand their thinking, language, behavioral patterns, emotional state, and aspirations, so we can look at their map of life & their individual perceptions of themselves, of other people and of life in general. When we create that awareness, we can clearly see where the blocks are and dive into where those beliefs and patterns came from (past experiences and up-bringing). Then we can reprogram their belief systems at a conscious, subconscious and unconscious level, to break unhelpful behaviour patterns and replace those limiting beliefs with new positive learnings, empowering beliefs and healthy behaviour patterns. Once we clear the mental blocks and move the mindset into the growth zone, we can work together to strengthen the skills that serve them best and develop new strategies that will support them moving forward towards their goals.
What does Neuro-linguistic Programming actually mean?
Neuro:
The physical components as well as the mental and emotional components of our neurology.
Linguistic:
Linguistics pertains to the language that you use, and more specifically, how you communicate with others and more importantly, how you communicate with yourself. It’s about understanding how you interpret reality, the meanings you associate with situations and the stories you tell yourself.
Programming:
Perceiving your mind as your internal operating system; programming is the way our past experiences, thoughts and emotions affect all areas of our lives. Understanding and managing our emotional response and the neurological processes we go through before responding to an experience.
Time Line therapy is a powerful healing process and NLP method for releasing emotional blocks and limiting beliefs tied to past experiences. We get you into a deeply relaxed meditative state where we can access your subconscious and unconscious mind to uncover the root cause of these blocks, release and then rewire your belief systems and behaviour patterns to better align with your goals and desires.
Limiting beliefs are usually formed between the age of 0-7 during specific events (where you experienced some form of rejection, abuse, abandonment, disrespect or labelling). As you move through life, the subconscious mind collects all of the similar events as ‘evidence’, which therefore strengthens those beliefs and prevents you from reaching your full potential. Through the Time Line Therapy process, I will guide you to access specific memories and you will finally be able to disconnect from the negative feelings and meanings associated with those memories and replace them with positive learnings, new perspectives and affirmations (the positive ‘evidence’ presented from your subconsious, to solidify your new beliefs). This will help you move forward towards your goals with mental clarity, stronger self-belief and connection with your intuition.
The goal of Time Line Therapy is to subtly change your unconscious thoughts and behaviour patterns so you can react to present experiences based on present conditions rather than reacting to the emotional triggers tied to the past. Giving you an empowered mindset, and the inner strength to take control of life.
The full process usually takes 3-4 sessions.
Starting with a set-up session to reveal any limiting beliefs, emotional blocks and hidden traumas. We discuss your past and how certain events may be affecting your present thought/behaviour patterns and work through some Time Line Therapy preparation. You will be given a time line journaling exercise to work through before the next session.
In session 2, we get into the Time Line Therapy process, clearing any emotional baggage and rewiring your internal programming with empowering new beliefs so you can truly be in the drivers seat of your thoughts, emotions, feelings, and therefore your results in life! (This usually takes 90-180 mins over one or two sessions)
After the Timeline therapy sessions, I will compile your new learnings and positive affirmations into a document. In our next session we will go through this together and create a plan with a few exercises so you can fully integrate these new beliefs into your life to propel you forward towards true fulfillment.
After clearing the mental mess, we can then bring our focus onto strengthening self-worth and confidence, or working through future focussed goals and creating an action plan in alignment with your core values and desired lifestyle.
If you've ever been to traditional therapy or counseling, you may have noticed the conversation was quite one-sided. In short, it's a safe space for you to talk/vent, and you will be prompted with the odd question to help you dive deeper or consider a different perspective. Therapists can determine illness, so their patients can be clinically treated. Traditional therapy is very valuable and supports many, but for a lot of people, it doesn't quite do the job, or it reaches a point of plateau when the person is ready to move forward, as therapists can't provide much future-focussed guidance.
Time Line Therapy Techniques and the practical process produces long-lasting transformations, much quicker than traditional therapy. To go back and process all of your past traumas in traditional talk therapy could take you years and that's if you stick with it consistently. At the end of that process, you will hopefully find a sense of relief and comfort. However, you probably won't be equipped with the mindset tools or beliefs that NLP coaching and Time Line Therapy will give you.
One of the main advantages of TLT and Neuro Linguistic Programming is that, instead of talking about the problem week after week, you get to do something about it! You will be given integration exercises to really help you understand the processes and put them into practice. You will be taught the tools that you can use over and over again to confidently support yourself whilst navigating the roller coaster of life.
TLT trains people how to tame or manage their reactive natures whenever life throws a curve ball. No life is lived without experiencing a few challenging surprises. Giving troubling events perspective and resolution is needed to reduce emotional upset. This is where TLT can assist emotional release, adjustment, and acceptance. This psychological program could be beneficial for anyone who has the habit of hanging on to hurt, or someone who struggles to silence self-doubts to pursue their passions.
TLT is a therapeutic process that has evolved from NLP and hypnosis where we can create change within the unconscious mind - where our core beliefs, habits, values and past memories are stored. When you are in a relaxed meditation state, we can access that information and use a series of techniques to alter your belief systems and behaviour patterns for the better.
It’s not ‘woo woo’ magic or me ‘fixing’ you, it’s a proven psychological process helping you uncover the answers and wisdom already within you so you can let go of your old programming and strengthen your new positive mindset that will help you achieve your goals and live a more fulfilling life.
Each program is completely personalised to support your unique goals/concerns, however, there are usually 3 underlying phases:
Phase 1 - Beginning by setting solid mindset foundations: Overcoming any limiting beliefs that may be holding you back from trusting in your decisions and reaching your full potential. We'll also increase your self-worth and self-esteem, so you have the confidence to aim high and back yourself along the way.
Phase 2 - Defining your values, purpose, and unique vision of success/fulfillment to inform your future-focused goals and help you re-align with the right people, passions, and opportunities in life.
Phase 3 - This is where we get more strategic and put plans into action to bring your visions into reality. This may include business development, career moves, financial wellness, health, and productivity plans etc. I'll also set you up with supporting systems that will help you maintain momentum.
Throughout the program, we may integrate spirituality, manifestation techniques, and self-love practices, along with healthy habits, and relationship management skills to support you in maintaining balance along the way.
This is a general guide. However, we will co-create your individualised plan together during our Clarity Call before we begin. Coaching is a collaborative journey so your intentions will always inform the direction of our sessions, and we'll move through intuitively, making sure we create space to work on anything that pops up unexpectedly as well.
You can't flip a switch and 'fix' everything or change your life in one or two sessions. It's an ongoing journey of self-discovery and self-improvement - this work takes time! To fully overcome limiting beliefs, break bad habits and rebuild the confidence and clarity you need to achieve the life you desire, it takes work and dedication to the process.
It takes commitment and courage to first, revisit past experiences in order to retrain your subconscious mind with empowering beliefs and behaviour patterns. Secondly, it takes ongoing action to reclaim your self-love and self-worth! and moving forward, it takes more time and energy to create a strategy that allows you to achieve your goals and live a fulfilling future. But it's an incredible, fun and empowering journey!
This is why the initial commitment is 3 months - so you can experience a truly life-changing transformation. Following the first 3 months, we can continue working together on a month-to-month basis for as long as you need (Most clients choose to work with me for 6-months+)
